1. Information we collect
When you create an account, kross-word.com collects your email address and display name and stores a password hash. We do not store your plaintext password. When you join early access, we collect the name and email address you submit. When you use the Contact form, we collect your name, email address, inquiry type, message, and privacy acknowledgment. We may also receive basic technical information normally sent by your browser or recorded by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time.
2. How we use information
We use account information to create and administer your account and for security and abuse prevention. We use early access information to manage invitations and send launch or testing updates. We use Contact form information to respond to inquiries. We may also use information to operate and improve kross-word.com.
3. Sharing and sale
We do not sell your personal information. Contact submissions are not stored in the kross-word.com application database; they are sent by email. The information may be transmitted to and retained in the systems of our email service provider. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.
4. Retention and security
Account information may remain while the account is active and as needed for operational, legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Contact information may remain in email systems under similar needs. We use reasonable safeguards, including storing password hashes instead of plaintext passwords, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
5. Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, or opt out of launch emails. Submit a privacy request through the Contact page. Some records may be retained when legally required.
6. Children and international use
kross-word.com is not currently directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us. Information may be processed where kross-word.com or its service providers operate.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the product develops. A revised effective date will be posted on this page.
